Dorwest Herbs Ltd director, Mary Boughton , has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for her services to business and the community in Dorset . Many congratulations to her on this achievement. On hearing of the award Mary said:

“I am absolutely thrilled to receive such an honour. It came as a total surprise; you just don’t expect to receive something like this. It is really quite humbling when I think of all the work that so many other people do as well, but it is very nice to be recognised in this way.”

Mary will be travelling to Buckingham Palace to receive the award later in the year.

Mary as also recently published a book entitled ‘Herbal Medicine for Dogs’  This is the first book to be published for many, many years on this subject and is a particularly welcome addition to all dog lovers’ libraries.

It covers the whole area of the use of herbal medicine for animals; how to give the herbs to your dog; why more vets don’t offer these treatments; which plants to use to help specific conditions and a very comprehensive list of the therapeutic value of individual plants.
